KUALA LUMPUR: The late Teoh Beng Hock’s family has filed an application for a judicial review of the Royal Commission of Inquiry’s findings that the ex-political aide had been driven to suicide.
Beng Hock’s brother, Teoh Meng Kee, who named himself as applicant, filed the documents at the High Court (Appellate and Special Powers) on behalf of the family.
Meng Kee was present in court with his parents and sister and filed the application through lead counsel Karpal Singh and lawyer Gobind Singh Deo.
He is asking for the High Court to grant him leave to set aside the findings by the commissioners that Beng Hock had been driven to commit suicide on July 16, 2009.
